"In Search of a True Blue" is a body of work that delves into the concept of perceived transparency through the use of cyanotype. The work draws its inspiration from the chemical’s blue hue - a color which was previously conceptually unrecognisable from our sight.

These life sized reconstructions are an assembly of visual documentations referenced from anatomical documents found online and stimulates the language of archives, resulting in forms that are familiar rather than lifelike. The reductive process of translating the digital documentations into a physical form acts as a metaphor for the layered transparencies imposed onto our sight which has simultaneously obscured the mutable qualities of our environment. Just as the blue of the cyanotype will eventually fade, so too will the animals depicted, whose existence here relies solely on images and information derived from natural archives.
